Shadow Syndicate Raiding Policy and Requirements

The Raiding Policy and Your Raiding Status

As a raider in Shadow Syndicate you are expected to adhere to the policies listed below. These are in place to provide you and our current raiders a healthy and progressive raiding environment. Multiple infractions and disregard for the raiding policy will first result in a verbal warning, followed by a "private probation", and then ultimately a demotion from your raiding status. If you are placed on a private probation you will still be able to raid as usual; however, you will be privately notified by the officers that you are being evaluated and if the situation does not improve you will be demoted as a raider. This system is in place to give you as a raider plenty of time and ample warning prior to your demotion. You will have every chance to correct your behavior and act accordingly in compliance with the raiding policy.

Performance/Skill Evaluation

Shadow Syndicate will be attempting some of the hardest dungeons available to us in this game, and therefore it is expected that our raiders are able to perform the duties that are required of your class. All raiding members are required to uphold the level of skill and performance that is necessary to be successful in an end-game raiding guild.

If you are unable to perform the job that you are responsible for due to lack of attention and/or skill you will be replaced in the raid. If you are consistently being replaced due to poor performance, you will be placed on private probation and if the situation does not improve you will be demoted as a raider.

Consumable Usage

Raiders are required to provide their own consumables and have enough for the entire 4 hours of raiding each night. From the moment you step foot into the instance until the end of the raid, you are expected to be using cosumables. This includes progression bosses, farm bosses, and trash. Raid Leaders will be performing constant checks to see if members are complying; and, if you are found to repeatedly have disregard for this policy and cannot maintain this level of consumable usage then appropriate action will be taken to demote you as a raider. Leaving the instance to go buy consumables during a raid that will result in a delay is not acceptable.

Boss Fights

Shadow Syndicate’s consumable usage policy is to be fully buffed for ALL boss fights. Raid leaders will specifically state if buffing is not necessary, if they say nothing, assume it is necessary and fully buff. Fully buffed includes the use of a flask/2 elixirs, and a food buff.

Preparation/Strategies

Raiders are required to come to raids fully prepared with an understanding of boss abilities, the particular strategy Shadow Syndicate is using, and to be knowledgeable of the specific job duties related to your class. Raiders who have clearly not prepared adequately for a boss fight will be demoted and replaced.

It is your responsibility as a raider to do all of the following BEFORE you step into any raid:

  1. Research and understand each of the boss’s abilities and how to deal with each one.
  2. Watch a video of the particular boss that will be encountered.
  3. Read the Strategy Discussion thread for that boss that is in the Raiding section of the Shadow Syndicate forums.
  4. Browse the Elitist Jerks Forum thread on that particular boss.
  5. Address any questions you have about the boss BEFORE the raid starts.

Attendance Requirements

To ensure we have proper attendance to progress in Firelands we will be enforcing our attendance rules more strictly. We simply cannot function as a solid raiding core if our membership does not show up. Required attendance is 75%. This leaves room for RL and things that come up especially as we only have a 3 day raiding week. If you drop below 75% attendance you will be issued a warning. If your attendance does not meet the 75% requirement within 2 weeks of your warning, we will recruit someone to fill the void and your playtime will be cut back significantly. Also, anyone who is below 75% attendance will not be able to bid or roll on loot unless everyone has passed on the item.

Raid Absences

As a raider you are required to post about any absence in the "POST IN THIS THREAD IF YOU WILL NOT BE MAKING A RAID" thread in the Raiding Section of the Shadow Syndicate forums.

Posting in this thread is to notify the raid leaders of your absence which could have an immediate impact on the raid's class makeup and our raiding plans for the day. Corrective action may be required and enacted by Officers including a verbal warning, but possibly concluding with raiding suspension or expulsion.

Schedule

We raid the following days:

  • Tuesday - 7:00 EST
  • Wednesday - 7:00 EST
  • Thursday - 7:00 EST
  • Sunday/Monday - 7:00 EST (Occasional Make-Up Day. Not WEEKLY)

Invites

Raid invites will go out 10 minutes before raid start, pay attention to Guild Chat to find out who is hosting invites for the evening. You are expected to be properly specced, with consumables, in vent and in front of the instance at 7:00 EST.

If you are raiding member and are online, you are expected to be in the raid. If you are found doing something else when you should be in the raid (ie Arena), you are subject to guild removal. There will be "Ironman" DKP Bonuses awarded consistantly for players showing up on-time and stay for the entire duration of the group. If you are significantly late without prior notice your marks will not be added for raiding activity.

If you are late to a raid, message an officer for an invite.

Standby

If you are not in groups 1 or 2 and are in the raid, you are on standby. On standby, you are considered to be on-call and will receive full DKP as if you are in the raid. You may hop on an alt, do bgs, or dailies(let someone know if you're dropping raid for this) in the meantime however you must be accessable at a moment's notice. If you are afk without notifying an officer, you will be kicked from the raid and receive no credit for being there.

If the raid is full but you're available, let a raid leader know.

Ventrilo Use During Raids

If you're in vent but outside the raid, be sure you know our progress before speaking. You dont want to interfere in the middle of an encounter

Trash

During trash, small talk is fine as long as it does not interfere with assignments and general raid flow.

Bosses

During bosses, Ventrilo should be kept clear. The only people who should be talking are raid leaders and announcers. If you die, dont feel the need to give an excuse over vent; it'll only distract the raid.

Recruitment Phase

Depending on class needs, performance, and other factors, a recruit period will last anywhere from 2-4 weeks. During this time your performance, skill, attitude, and attendance will be evaluated by your fellow guildmates, and Officers. At the end of your recruitment phase a decision will be made by the Officers to either promote you as a raider or if you will be subject to demotion. It is important that you use this time to perform to the best of your ability and to show Shadow Syndicate that you will be a good fit to this guild. If you have any questions about your class specific duties or have any misunderstandings related to how we operate as a guild, it is advised that you talk to a member of guild leadership and clear up any issues that you may have.

Raid Spot

As a recruit, members have priority over you in a raid. If you are sat out for someone in the same class during a fight, do not take this personally. However, if you feel you aren't being used enough, please let the officers know.

Bidding on Items with Earned DKP

We use a bidding system. More information can be found here.

DKP Is available in-game and online at DKP.SSGUILD.ORG. Please read the DKP Documentation on this site BEFORE YOU RAID. Ask Officers any questions you have about DKP BEFORE YOU RAID.
